Overview

Port Monitor is a local desktop application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used.

Data We Do Not Collect

Port Monitor does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on remote servers. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not transmit network connection data, process names, or port information to any server.
• We do not use analytics, crash reporting services, or telemetry.
• We do not display advertisements.

Local Data Access

To provide its core functionality, Port Monitor reads the following information from your local system:

• Active TCP and UDP network connections (local and remote addresses, ports, status)
• Process information associated with those connections (process name, PID, executable path, username)

This information is displayed only within the app and is never sent anywhere. It is not stored persistently by the application.

Log Files

Port Monitor writes a local log file to ~/.port-monitoring/port-monitoring.log on your device. This file contains diagnostic information for troubleshooting and is never uploaded or shared. Log files are automatically rotated and limited in size.

User Language Preference

If you change the display language, your preference is stored locally in the application data directory on your device. This preference is not shared with any third party.

Third-Party Services

Port Monitor does not use any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics platforms. The application functions entirely offline.

Children's Privacy

Port Monitor does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
